The Lyrics

The old ones,
Darling we're the old ones,
And old ones shouldn't be afraid.

To live, love
While the gas is still on
For we may not be the old ones very long.

Tomorrow,
Who gives a toss about tomorrow,
Cause tomorrow often never comes.
Love, me,
There's a time to be bold
And the best time is be it when we're old.

Often in a lifetime
Comes a love like this.
I need you and you need me.
Where's my glasses, I can't see
Old dreams
Should be dreamed together,
Old hearts shouldn't be afraid.
And some day when the pension is gone
Then we'll move back to the young ones of our own..

Often in a lifetime
Comes a love like this.
I need you and you need me.
Where's my glasses, I can't see

Old dreams
Should be dreamed together,
Old hearts shouldn't be afraid.
And some day when the money is gone
Then we'll move in with the young ones of our own

I'd love to hear Cliff and the Shads perform this version one day. Maybe for their 60th reunion ;-) I'm sure they could make it a fun act too! Saw the 50th reunion show live twice and they are just so great together!!
