No freedom for “dames,” as in an ancient times
before electric came to brighten night’s clime.
Such thinking reflects an older epoch when
“apostasy” got you sent to the pen.

Fondly recall a time:
under a theocratic yoke all had to bend.
Now they are appalled
that such servitude’s come to an end.

Such a lot to do now to turn back the tide;
and every day they see more who are on their side.
They bid to get the country on Feudal tracks;
they’re doing all they can to take us back.
