Parody Song Title:

"Yesterday"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

In honor of MasonR and Johnny D, who both merged "A Hard Day's Night" and "Nights In White Satin." And Red Ant, who inspired this and its accompanying parody, by titling a "Yesterday" parody "Honesty." I love merged parodies, witness my own "Gone Down" ("Sundown" and "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald") and "Hidden Banana" (the two Lolas, "Lola" and "Copacabana").
If you search for memories, they aren't hard to find.
You can recall days you're glad to live.
But if you look for fantasies, you might just as well be blind.
A future always seems to hard to give.

Yesterday.
It's such a lonely place.
Everyone is so, so blue.
Yesterday.
It's now the long-gone days.
A future's what I need from you.

I can always find someone to say they sympathize
if I'm half the man I used to be.
But I don't want some pretty face to falsely prophecize.
'Cause my past is too rotten to believe!

Yesterday.
It's such a lonely place.
Everyone is so, so blue.
Yesterday.
It's now the long-gone days.
A future's what I need from you.

She was once a lover.
She was once a friend.
She gave me security
but that's come to an end.

Anyone can play an easy game with me again.
I know
(I know)
I know
whoa-whoa-whoa...

When I hide inside of me
don't get too concerned.
I know yesterday is dead and gone.
From the shadows I'll break free
and then where, girl, can I turn?
Are you the future I'll descend upon?

Yesterday.
It's such a lonely place.
Everyone is so, so blue.
Yesterday.
It's now the long-gone days.
A future's what I need from you.
