STEADY RAIN

This steady rain is getting absolutely ludicrous,
I can’t remember when we last saw any sun.
And it isn’t really any fun,
Not for anyone.

Instead of playing in the park the kids are stuck indoors,
They’re running riot and are making lots of noise,
I just wish that they would play with toys,
Like when we were boys, simple toys.

Steady rain, forever falling from the sky,
And I’ve got to ask myself just why
It won’t stop, meantime back

Across the land we see the rivers getting very high,
For sure they’re going to burst their banks by end of day.
And it seems the rain is here to stay,
It won’t go away.
