Without Him

We were stalking around the space behind the stall
For a person who hid himself behind a wall
Of styrofoam.
We glimpsed the truth, before it was too late
And he slipped away.
We were talking about the thug we'd all snare,
When we found him.
And then we held him there,
Till we moved, till we moved
Him to a world he'd never known.
Soon he'll realize that though his appearance had changed,
We'd still found him in a hole that was very small
And life might go on so much better
Without him.
He was balking, like he was the big deal of old
When he'd tried to gain the Mideast region's gold.
He don't yet know-he can't see-he's no longer him.
When he sees beyond his cell, he may see a tribunal's waiting there.
And the time will come when he
Sees he's just one turd, and life might go on so much better
Without him.
