Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Screw Christmas; PLAY BALL BABY
It's the most wonderful time of the year
When the springtime is springing
And birds are all singing
Cause baseball is here
It's the most wonderful time of the year

It's the hap-happiest season of all
With the crybabies fussing
And managers cussing
When umps blow a call
It's the hap-happiest season of all

There'll be superstars slacking
And Carloses hacking
And Juans and Miguels and Pe-dros
There'll be broadcasters yapping
And Ichiro slapping
Out hits like a pimp smackin' ho's

It's the most wonderful time of the year
With the bleacher bums yelling
And everyone smelling
Like nachos and beer
It's the most wonderful time of the year

There'll be ticket price hiking
And talk about striking
And hot dogs that cost you eight bucks
There'll be many hearts broken
Your team will be chokin'
Cause their crappy bullpen just sucks

It's the most wonderful time of the year
There'll be much disagreeing
And everyone's peeing
The Cream and the Clear
It's the most wonderful time
The *true* most wonderful time
It's the most wonderful time
Of the year

Claude, you have a a talent for rhyming words with the word "ho"--very special parody.

I prefer football, but spring is the most wonderful time of year - if it is sunny and breezy like today. The June gloom just blows it.

My fav week of the year. Opening day, and the Masters golf tournament. "Ichiro slappin' out hits like a pimp smackin' ho's made me LMAO. Pure genius

Five Pennants. Dee: The Masters? You pay attention to golf? You are truly deranged.
Rex - April 04, 2005 - Report this comment
My dad was a baseball sportwriter, and to this day I'm still amazed at how he could give me the strategy for the next play, and then we'd watch it happen. And Dee - pay no attention to that unbeliever Pacholek, there's nothing like the Masters on a large-screen high def TV. And...that just gave me an idea for another parody. Gotta go now....

Michael, I've won club championships at three different clubs, and once shot 68 playing head to head against Tim Herron, who has won 3 PGA Tour events since his debut on tour in 1997. I tied him for low score among 10 professionals. I was the only amateur in the group, but played to a 0 handicap.

Even though those of us in or near Anaheim don't think the Angels' name change is wonderful, this parody does an excellent job of depicting this annual spring time phenomenon. And I agree with Dee Range that the spectacle of the Masters supercedes opening week of baseball.

Dee: So what do you want, a medal? Put it this way: Any idiot can go to JCPenney and buy a green jacket, but a championship ring must be earned. Rex: Yes, there's nothing like it. And there will be absolutely nothing like it on my TV this weekend. John J.: It figures you would prefer golf to baseball, being a "conservative." I quote Burt Shotton, who managed the Brooklyn Dodgers to Pennants in 1947 and '49: "Any game where a 50-year-old man can compete on an even level with a 30-year-old man, that's not a sport." Put it this way: When Greg Norman chokes at Augusta, nobody says he's "off playing football."

Claude Prez? I don't think I've noticed you on here before - you show promise. Great beginning to end, and more kudos on the pimp line.

SOTM--I hate it when I'm late getting to a parody, because all of my props get stolen...hmph! Oh well...the entire...

Uhhh, baseball? Right... icing... free throw... touchdown! (I'm sure it's a wonderful time of year, but I must defend my country with primitive grunting of 'rugbyrugbyrugby'.) Funny parody.

I'll let one of my old parodies be my comment to this song about this "phenomenon".

(SOTM) Late comment due to Firefox and lack of sleep (I guess).. Not sure I get all the references, but some great lines in here.
