The Lyrics

Richard Snowden edges out Tom Hanks for the lead in Spielberg's lighthearted airport sequel, 'Catch Me If You Can 2. (loose harmonies courtesy Julian Assange)
~
Hello Muddah,
Hello Papa,
Putin’s airport’s
my new dacha.
I’m in limbo—thanks to 'bama—
Who they say refers to me now as ‘Snow-sama’!

Some said ‘hero’
Some said ‘traitor’
I said, “See ya
Alligator!”
Hid in Hong Kong,
then in Russia
When my Wiki-leak became a Wiki-gusha’

Spooks were spying―
I was lurking
FBI, it
seems was shirking.
So I Wiki’d
with great zeal,
Just a terabyte―or two―so no big deal

All the lib’rals
think I’m peachy,
but the ‘Neos’
go all Nietzsche
When the Homeland’s
feeling threatened
by the upload of its $hit at bits per second

Concourse fever
Man, I’m freaking!
Putin’s people
scream, “Keep leaking!”
I can’t sleep and
also feel
Christie’esque from food court Cinnabons® each meal

I’m scared sick—
just broken slumber,
Seal Team Six—
you got my number?
Don’t leave me
alone where CIA
might come, and spirit me away!

Hey, I-raq―
Take me and I won’t leak *your* crap
I’ve turned a leaf―
I’ll e-ven hack
Your sat dish so
you’ll all get
gratis HBO

Hello Haiti,
Ditto Mali,
Care to harbor
this here commie?!
Gimme shelter
Argentina;
Send a sub so I can duck Barack’s subpoenas!

Wait a minute―
help is coming!
‘sylum granted,
chopper’s thrumming!
My new home's in
North Korea—
since I promised Kim Jong access to my rea’ !!

I liked this one. I know the original song in Finnish, and it was one of my childhood favourites. Fives.

Funny, informed, topical, clever rhyming and wordplay - 'dacha', 'wiki-gusha', 'Nietzche' stand out among many great lines. Not sure about 'Mali/commie'. Alan Sherman would give this the thumbs up, I'm sure.

Can you keep a secret? I'm not voting any more. Like a few others, I'm boycotting the system until its abuse is fixed. I would normally have given you fives but a comment means so much more. I'll also be thanking people not to vote on my own parodies.

I agree with LL...very witty and humorous...sort of like a Jay Leno monologue in rhyme and song...we need more of this top caliber parody writings submitted here.

The second verse is fantastic. But would "I said 'See you/Later gator'" have been better?

Deeply encrypted, then hacked and widely dispersed thanks out to:

Susan: I too like to Finnish with a bang! (--sorry, for a moment there I was channeling the turtle!)

Lifeliver: Appreciate the thoughtful comment, sir! And you're right about the voting system and 'commie'... should've gone for a Mali/Bali play. Also, the Iraq stanza needed the word 'sat' to read 'satellite' to pace. I blame the hackers!

AFW: Thanks, man! Looking back on the voluminous primo parodies posted here in the mid to late 2000's—by dozens of different authors—there's just no comparison! Maybe it's a cycle thing.

Sorry, John, must have cross posted. And yeah... the phrase, as I learned it, is "See ya later alligator"... In this scheme I was forced to drop 2 sylls and, likely chose wrong! Thanks for V&C.

Only other flaw I could find is that Mr. Snowden's "Christian" name is Edward not Richard. 5s

Brilliant - nice idea, cleverly executed

@Barry_J_Mitchel: *Edward*! Duh! Thanks for pointing it out.
