The Lyrics

I know this seems too much on the nose, but it's time to look back on the year that was. I was reminded after watching the Big Fat Quiz of the year, that I had this song waiting to be posted. Enjoy.
(Verse 1)
It feels like the perfect time
To live with long covid
And join the freedom convoy
Uh-uh, uh-uh
It feels like the perfect time
For a spike in all crime
To send Russian tanks out west
Uh-uh, uh-uh

(Pre-chorus)
No
We’re pissed, sad, anxious and diverse with all pronouns
It’s competition to perdition, oh, yeah
Oscars that night when humour took a slap to the face
This time, oh-oh

(Chorus)
This is what we lived through
In the year of twenty-two
Activision does not stay since
Microsoft has bought you
Gas prices always rise
No carbon if you moo
The shortest term prime minister
After longest serving queen
Twenty-two, twenty-two

(Verse 2)
It looks like a boring trial
The Jan. 6 committee
Too many DINOS
Uh-uh, uh-uh (Who votes Cheney, anyway? Gone)
It seems the law is now vile
We ditch Roe v. Wade
And women screamin’
When Tate is speaking

(Pre-chorus)
No
We’re pissed, sad, anxious and diverse in the sports world
It’s competition to perdition, oh, yeah
Oscars that night when Chris Rock took a slap to the face
This time, oh-oh

(Chorus)
(Hey!) This is what we lived through
In the year of twenty-two
Activision does not stay since (Ooh)
Microsoft has bought you
Gas prices always rise
No carbon if you moo
The shortest term prime minister (Alright)
After longest serving queen
Twenty-two (Oh-oh-oh-oh, oh), twenty-two (This is what we lived through)
Twenty-two, twenty-two (Ooh)

(Bridge)
Soo many shoplifting nights
Since the law is so vile
KS gets abortion rights
Migrants keep comin’
Railway labour wants fair price
Nordstream sabotage
Debt relief mirage
Debt relief mirage (age)
Woah, ooh, yeah, eh-yeah

(Chorus)
(Hey!) This is what we lived through (This is what we lived through)
In the year of twenty-two
Activision does not stay since (Ooh)
Microsoft has bought you
Gas prices always rise (Gas prices always rise)
No carbon if you moo
The shortest term prime minister
After longest serving queen (Longest serving queen twenty-two)
Twenty-two (Woah-oh), twenty-two (serving queen)
Twenty-two (Yeah, yeah), twenty-two (Yeah, yeah, yeah)

(Outro)
We end the year on Messi (Twenty-Two)
Not just the World Cup
We end the year on messy (Twenty-Two)
Twitter secrets known
We end the year on messy (Twenty-Two)
Ye rants in a mask
Makes me want to lask
Makes me want to lask
Time to trudge on to Agenda 2030 and the end of civil liberties. I'd be open to seeing some predictions of what will happen in 2023, down in the comments below.

Don’t forget how AmIRight learned about the greatest broadcast of all time, that 1951 “Beat the Clock” show.

If # of Amiright song parodies with readership in double figures is any guide, it is clearly the greatest event in human history. There's are about 200 of them now, right? Thats like twice the # done about WWII, and WWII was a BIG F#(K*NG DEAL

The broadcast occurred between the end of WWII and the start of the rock and roll era, when American culture changed dramatically. Television was also only just starting to gain momentum, and there wasn’t much of a reason to preserve a copy of this show. Metaphorically, this show was the bridge between the old culture and the new one, the very last great moment of the pre-rock and roll era. I don’t see any other period where this could have been attempted.

If this show was so significant, why is it that absolutely nobody has any knowledge of it? Why is it that 99.9% of the awareness about this show is due solely to endless numbers of Amiright song parodies? Could it be because your characterization of same may be just a BIT, nay a TAD ... of a stretch?
