Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"AM: Day"

Parody Written by:

John A. Barry

The Lyrics

A’s for ante; “before” what it means,
M’s for “meridian,” as in mean,*
D is diurnally,
A’s for “Afternoon,” flick by Billy,**
Y’s for yesterday, when one was up and didn’t snore.

Diurnal snoring is a bore.

AM: day is not the time to snooze,
AM: day is not the time to booze.
Teachers then are teachin’; fired workers are boss-beseechin’.
Sun is out, giving great views.

A’s for awake and attaining pay,
M’s for mouthed bromide: “Have a nice day!”
D’s for dramas where soap actors bray,
A is for apple that keeps they doctor away,
Y’s for yes-man at the office and fawning cohort.

Noses up his cloacal port.

AM: day is when around you move,
AM: day is when vampires don’t groove.
In the sack is where you’d like to be. . .a bad ’tude.
Arise, grab some breakfast food.

AM: day, you’re rankled
when boss admonishes you.
So you’re thinking that this dude really sucks—and a lot!
Shithead, crank, nut—oh, and buffoon.
Right, this guy’s a loony toon.

AM: day, he will reprove
you ’ cause you’ve a slothful groove.
Were he in school, you’d put him on the dunce stool.

* OK, it’s a stretch
** “Love in the Afternoon,” 1957, directed by Billy Wilder

AM amazed at some of the simplistic topics you use with such ease but with such flair-555!

Thanks, Rob. A manifestation of my simplemindedness.

JAB, I noticed we're making the same mistakes over again. Since the letters are CAPS then the title MUST BE IN CAPS. I screwed up with VE-day (VE-DAY) and then you with VP Way (VP WAY). I corrected with T-(X)RAY, but you reveresed it to AM:Day (AM: DAY)!!! Corrected again on X24 :)

Oops. Glad you're awake during this day.

JAB - And the series goes on. You must be exhausted from the previous day (I know it was actually TWO days work, but the results were impressive enough!). ;D
