What’s dude see? Pours?

Well, it was some senseless scene,
was no “Gran Torin.”
It’s a gaping look I did, but nothing there.
What’s he gawk? We can’t discover (view?).
The guy’s talking to a chair!

Well, we didn’t see anyone, but he
was engrossed in conversation with the air.
Did hallucinations hover (spooks)
just above that empty chair?

Well, he didn’t zoom
through lines in that room.
He went well beyond his time.

Oh, he blathered that night,
but there was no one in sight. . .
went on much too long
with incoherent fare.
Was there a chance he’d been guzzling (booze)
as he talked to that blank chair?

All of this was very puzzling (dude?!)
as he bawled to no one there,
while all stared at just a chair.
