Shopping time, I’m at Walmart; it takes forever
My list is growing, full of things I need to buy
Got the milk, I’ve got the meat and cheese
I’ve got the Lysol, got Tide and Febreze
I’ll head to produce ‘cause I need a fresh cucumber

As I’m stacking veggies in a lit-tle plastic baggie
I hear a voice across the way, FRIEND of a friend
I feel my muscles tighten, jaw I clench
Scared they’ll see me now, can’t move an inch
Deer in the headlights; I see THEM walking over

As they wave I wipe my MAD face off
Make believe that I am happy and that we are buddies
Not someone I’ve been thinking of
Wanna treat ‘em like a stranger
Not keep small talk up

But I really have no place to go
Hear their tales about their kids and
All a-bout their summer
I’d rather sift through garbage though
Than run into somebody that I used to know

I duck back in the junk food row

Then my fourth grade teacher cuts me off
Asks me if I’ve got a husband and three kids or somethin’
Escape is what I’m dreamin’ of
My head is now in danger
Of exploding—PUFF!

So I cut around the cookie dough
Build a Toll House roll protector
As a shield from someone
Off of a cliff I’d rather go
