The Lyrics

Part of my "Cut the Flowers" self-challenge. There's a balance you need to strike when it comes to background info in a story. Too little? No-one will know what's going on. Too much? Well...
He knows, she knows, w-w-we know the story, dial the info back

Constant exposition
Show shouldn't be a list of backstory right now, yeah-eah
All this homework is a folly (folly)
What is so wrong about speculation, right, right, right?
Just 'cause you can write it, ooh, yeah-eah
Don't dump the lore on my face, I will be fine
Because I care 'bout what you've got there
Don't throw mystery away

No character or big thrillin' scenes
Just lore on a plate ditched at me
Don't treat me like I'm thick, thick as trees
Let me speculate, drip that feed
Hate all this, yeah-eah
Yeah-eah (yeah-eah)

One more reason why I hate all this (hate all this):
Seems a tad, no, it's way pointless (way pointless)
Useless fluff for detail, stop it (-tail, stop it)
Major stuff it explains: nothin' ('splains nothin'), oh
You can try to berate me, yuh
That there's no damn way that I can know, yeah-eah (yeah-eah)
It's all pointless, that's crazy, yuh
May be so but I'm still real sure, though (real sure, though), oh, yeah-yeah-yeah-yeah-eah-eah
If the plot hangs on these, ooh, yeah-eah
Ancient furniture details, I will be like:
"Now I don't care 'bout what you've got there"
No mystery and it's lame

Barely a show now, this is so weak
Just readin' me straight wiki feeds
There's nothin' here that clicks, clicks for me
Just feels like a drain, drip that feed
Hate all this, hate all this
Hate all this

Someone get stabbed or whipped, ooh, yeah-eah
Folly, folly, that's why I'm like:
"Why should I care?" No reason to care
Folly, folly

What's also ambiguous is why this song went viral. Not saying it's bad, I'm just not seeing how it would catch on.
