Not like I've had these socks for a couple of days
A couple decades, a closer fit
Swear that my feet still fit in them, true
But my toe is now on show and that just won't do
Not a good look, mate, when it won't fit

Not the first time that I've gone through this

One sock's still perfect and at my core
That's the worst part, I hate unevenness for sure
Completely bogus that just one ripped, yeah
Could blame my toenails except, you see
No, wait, there's nothing else, plain why my toe's now free
I'm kinda hopeless keeping them trimmed (rarely trimmed)
They keep getting longer, even when I try
It's never clean and nice
So easy to catch on any cloth it finds
And my sock was close by
