The Lyrics

Part of my "Shine Brighter" self-challenge. A simple song about the inherent sexism in the workplace. Or something I'm equally not worthy to approach as song parody material...but I had this really good title sub and like hell I'm letting it go to waste.
You got a job, well done
A secretary for a big business
Takin' calls and writin' memos
Getting a fat pay check just for Christmas

But something's off
You were jobless just last week
Maybe I'm wrong
Work that quick, I must critique

Because when you applied
They did not review, not review
Your long resume
They just skimmed it through, skimmed it through
This is hard to say
You have to face reality

Cause you weren't hired for your brain
The big wigs just lied to your face
They just want someone nice
And what that means is a pretty face, not brains

Sure, your typing's good
Your speech is clear, that's alright
Yes, you're really clever
But I know the higher-ups are right tossers

They do not care if you
Can calm crazy dudes, angry dudes
With the words you say
Instead of your boobs, yes, your boobs
This is tough to say
They don't care 'bout intelligence

Yes, you weren't hired for your brain
Just a whore to them, such disgrace
I don't mean what I said
I am just explaining their true aim, their game

You weren't hired for your brain
They saw your butt and said "okay"
Sure, the job pays real nice
But can you live with bosses that shite, they ain't nice

You can simply walk out the door
And flip them off "I ain't posin' for ya!"
Then sue them for harassment or somethin'
Then hope the next time someone employs ya

You'll be hired for your brain
You'll feel good inside, 'twould be ace
Pay may not be as nice
But there won't be douchebags up the chain, that's great

Should be hired for your brain
Best check upfront what is their game
If they're feeding you lies
Tell them to get stuffed, don't trust those guys, sexist guys, ohhhh!

Oh noooo
Pay you've earned, oh
Should be earned
Really earned
This is the third time I've parodied Adele. Bloody hell, something about her is really tricky to parody, I dunno. Clearly my brain shuts down in the presence of respectability. Hence why I was nervous when it came to parodying Lupe Fiasco.

Oh man, I've been trying to come up with an idea for this song, but I don't think I can top this one...great job!

Great title and a great parody to follow it up with! This was brilliant (unlike my secretary)

Very hard song to parody so well done there. And I'm partial to most office humor, as well as the phrase 'right tossers'. Nice one tcop

In response to your bottom comments (stay with me, this is not going with the theme of the song) I'd say that it's all those streeeetched out syllables - it's always a bummer to parody artists that just can't seem to finish their words, many good ideas of mine have ended up orally violated by the original artist that way.

See above. Still may be one of my favorite title switches of all time, great job!

Conqueror of Parodies is the newest member of the feminist movement and he's not even female! I like this parody good message to send home to the kids!

(SOTM) The wording was a little choppy in some places, so I had a little trouble pacing it at first, but the humor was there and it definitely compensated. I could see this in like a musical or something. That made me laugh even more.
