The Lyrics

I'm at badave.com I generally don't use rhyme zone much unless I get real stuck on a parody, but their site is pretty cool--check it out
All this writing (writing) leaves me with a frown
What rhymes with brown (brown), I need it to be a noun
Well I don't have time to use a dictionary
So I used Google as a tool

Third page, It's exactly what I sought
You just type in the word and then Well, a whole lot
of words like rot because they rhyme with squat
You will also find dot and snot

Since then if I'm scratching my hair (hair)
I go to this site and find rhymes that are rare
Now I can finish anything without breaking to tears
I can finish this song by noon

During tough songs we can all survive
Now I'm snappy (snappy) sometimes helps me strive
Now even rap and dance I'll take on in stride
Well, I'll be back there real soon

I can rhyme, (yes I) I can rhyme (but when)
When I'm running out of rhymes, my head's sore
I'm typin' (yes I'm) typin', I'm a-typin' in the
Typin' in the (rhyme) zone I'm typin', Yes I'm typin' in the
Typin' (rhyme) I'm typin' in the (rhyme) oh yes, That's what I go to
Rhyme Zone for!

So when I'm writing I don't stay up late at night
Write until my thumbs are sore, I used to stay it was lights out
It was quite a plight I was up against
You know, I needed some help with rhymes

I can get some definitions too
So I'm no longer heading for quite certain doom use my mouse
Tell me, what else rhymes with broom
It will tell me ev'ry time

I promise you that this site is worthwhile
Lots of synonyms that can give a little smile
Somewhat likewise sounds that have similar styles
All arranged syllabically

So when you are going a word rhyme hunt
You no longer have to let out grunts
Just go and type this site in it's
r-h-y-m-e-z-o-n-e-dot-com

I can rhyme, (yes I) I can rhyme (but when)
When I'm running out of rhymes, my head's sore
I'm typin' (yes I'm) typin', I'm a-typin' in the
Typin' in the (rhyme) zone I'm typin', Yes I'm typin' in the
Typin' (rhyme) I'm typin' in the (rhyme) oh yes, That's what I go to
Rhyme Zone for!

I'm typin' (yes I'm) typin', I'm a-typin' in the
Typin' in the (rhyme) zone I'm typin', Yes I'm typin' in the
Typin' (rhyme) I'm typin' in the (rhyme) oh yes, That's what I go to
Rhyme Zone for!

When your rhyming gets real tough

I'll rhyme

benches trenches,
speeders breeders,
Dairy treats,
with red two-seaters
Chain reactor,
and fear factor,
When at odds
look up cheaters
gawky-balky,
and Milwaukee
or theres stalky,
Oh-and talkie
Turns out zealot,
rhymes with pelot,
Oh and before there was Walkie
Hanger bangers,
Clutter butter,
Lion Zion,
Flutter gutters
Groover Hoover,
Coover Mover,
Wire cutters makes me flutter
Admit transmit,
Able cables,
Whipping tripping,
Label tables
Jackal shackle,
Cackle grackle,
Logger jogger,
Braille for sale
Imitation Innovation,
Medication transformation
Proofing goofing,
Spoofing roofing,
Information generation
Fester testers,
Specter nectar,
Sizzle drizzle,
Specter hector
Wages ages
Pages stages,
Notre rotor and locomotor
Glacial boulder/candle holder,
Acrobatic problematic
Packet jacket,
Bracket racquet,
What other word rhyme with mutant
Oh--Pollutant
Quaker shaker,
Meaner leaner,
Breaker Taker
Vindicator
Rhymes with greater
See you later alligator

Rhyme with late, (yes theres) Always eight (oh but)
but I need something stronger right now
I'm typin' (yes I'm) typin', I'm a-trying' to go
Rhymin' at the (Rhyme) zone I'm trying', to be rhymin' with help
from the (Rhyme) That's what' the site (Rhyme) oh yes, That is what the
Rhyme Zone's for

I'm typin' (yes I'm) typin', I'm a-trying' to go

I have never used rhymezone. Ever. And I have no plans of changing that. Which is why I could probably never make a parody of this song, and rhyming words found from rhymezome (and not) seems like a great way to do the list part. Recording this one would be much more useful as an ad for rhymezone than pure entertainment purposes, which isn't necessarily a bad thing at all.

UWTOS, but enjoyed the read.

Well done, Dave. Some pacing hiccups in the beginning, but Al makes that section much harder than I expected. Because the subject is just rhyming, some of the funny was lost on me in written form. I think a recording would clear that right up (ha ha, good luck sir). I still have to check out your take on wanna be startin' something. I notices you had that entered in a SOTM earlier this year. Anyhow, well done. This is no easy write, and it's good to see you're not completely sick of it after the Weird Al round :c]....

Thank you very much guys

Ethan: Yeah, I don't use it much, but on this particular parody I did check the rhymes for the name sake--and I really appreciate what they offer the poetry world (now and then when I get really stuck. . .) but it is cool now and then to make 'advertising' like songs (who knows. . .maybe some day).

Stan: Have to brush up on my "text" (dedicated a song to that topic) I think I may know what UWTOS means, but I'm not positive, thank you.

Glen: May get recorded some day--I'm creating such a back log despite average 1.5 recordings a week, yeah Wanna Be Breakin' Somethin--that was a fun recording to do, I've had a lot of fun recording in general this year. Thanks Buddy.

BAD, FYI & FWIW, UFTOS -> Unfamiliar With ... ;-)
You won't often hear those "texting" shortcuts from my fingertips, but DKTOS seems almost de rigueur amiright argot. UWTOS is just my contrarian streak sneaking out. :-)

gahhhahh! _UWTOS_ .. I can walk and chew gum, but apparently not type and be a smartass. At least not using this dinky laptop keyboard. :-)

Quite an essay about rhyming, but Tom Lehrer would never have leaned on a computer to help him rhyme.

I used your comment on my parody "Brangelina" where you said that you were tired of hearing about them every time they go to the toilet and I'm sorry I didn't give you credit. Marilyn Beck published it in her latest annual Tacky Taste awards.

Wow. I'm not the only one to use RhymeZone. Cool song.

BAD - I've been using rhymezone.com since I can remember writing on Amiright. I have written some parodies where I did not need a rhyming coach but these are rare. If I'm writing then Rhymezone.com is up. Rhymezone has a lot of features. I find the rhyming feature the most vital but there is also a feature that you can query Rhymezone to give you a list of words that sound alike to the word you are trying to rhyme or use. This works about 40% of the time.

Another very useful website that is affiliated with Rhymezone is Onelook.com. It's an online dictionary with some bonus features. It allows you to use wildcards on searches. It finds more rhyming words usually than rhymezone.com. If for instance I need the right word to go with "paste" and Rhymezone is of no help I can go to Onelook and enter "aste". This will give me all words it knows of five letters that end in "aste". If I use "??aste" I get six letter words that end in "aste", etc. If I use "*aste" I get everything that ends in "aste". Filtering also allows you to eliminate the phrases and limit the search.

Another very nice feature is that you can use wildcards with a word that is associated with the rhyming word. If "*aste:quick" is entered you will receive the word "haste". Try it. anyone.

So now some of my trade secrets are out, but I'm glad to share with all.

Your parody name really caught my eye and I like what you did with the long list of rhyming lines - that took some great imagination. I find the parody unique in that it tells about how the author weaves the craft and the trials and tribulations that the author goes through. I can well relate as I am sure that all the authors out here can. I like this parody. Well done.

Are you saying I never commented on this one? I remember reading it of course so I can't believe I never commented on it. Good parody about an excellent web site which I'm sure all of us use. I myself use it religiously!

ABC: I LOVE Rhymezone! I use it all the time and this was an excellent homage to the website! 555 more rhymes for you!

Never knew about this before....I might need to use it sometime. But anyway, you win this ABC round hands down, just for taking on this song. What was really smart here was, that even though much of it was randomly placed words (but well-chosen ones), you made it about *something*. Good job, BAD.

(ABC5) I have abused Rhymezone in the past, which is my some of my earlier works have some kinda...odd lines (Should Retire is a great example of which). I have moved away from my dependence on the site, but reading this parody sends me back to when I first discovered the site. Ah, how happy I was. Anyway, great parody here, 555!

Quite an extensive list of rhymes there! I stumbled upon Rhymezone a few years back and definitely take advantage of it from time to time. Very handy site. Nice job!

(ABC Q & R) Great work here, the OS is spectacularly difficult, and the parody was well-executed, as a B.A. Dave work should be and almost invariably is. 5s.

(ABC Tournament) Never used that Rhymezone site, but gotta try it sometime. Way to make a good rhyme. Way to jive, give you 5's, you showed them you're alive!

I may use Rhymezone if I get horrible writers block.... wait, that's already happened. Great take on this song, the rhyming list must have been hell... unless you used Rhymezone for it of course LOL. 555
