The Lyrics

.mp3 to OS..http://www.usanetwork.com/series/monk/music.html
It's a jungle in there
Rank odor and revulsion in that lair
He don't seem to care
Smells like loo
Hey! You the sarge here?

It's a jungle in there.
Onion and his underwear we breathe
Do you know what makes eyes water, it's that stink.
Smell-like-loo, and I'm hell-raising.

All the room is hazy, 'cuz it's covered with that grime
Looks like a convention, dude, looks like a zoo.
You'd best not give dissension.
Or that room you love so much..might be taboo.

Well, you weren't wronged now..... (Saw something slink slow!!)
It's a jungle in there.
It's a jungle in there.

I've watched one eppy of Monk and that was the series premier. Can't say I care much for the show. It's kind of like Get Smart with all the funny removed. I guess it's the compulsive behavior that turns me off on the show. I listened to the theme song and read the OS on the USA Network site you plugged. Is there words sung to the theme on the show? Your parody would describe Monk's worst nighmare if he were trapped in that place.

The first season had a jaunty little guitar tune as it's theme. We liked it. Then inexplicably, the producers decided to pay Randy Newman for a piece of crap tune he probably wrote while taking one. This parody is about that lousy song itself, as far as I'm concerned.

Well then Rick, I guess they shouldn't have Monk-eyed with it. I wasn't sure but I'd thought that the theme had changed from what I remembered about the one show I did see. Thanks.

Pat, I don't like the show and I don't know the OS. I, however do like what you wrote and I voted you 5s.

Thank you alvin, guy.

Pat, you misunderstood. I did like it, I gave it fives. But just for me, I'm going to pretend your parody is making fun of the crappy Randy Newman song. If my comments can be taken two ways, (and they always are, I'm a Gemini) try to take the nicer one. We like you.

Thank you Rick

But, Rick, I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I was saying that I like the OS. ( I really do want to be judged on my parody not my choice of songs.)

Pat, I liked your piece...DK "Monk"...have heard of it & seen the promo's & know Tony Shaloub is the main character. 5's...

Thank you Paul.

Oh. Sorry Pat, this sort of thing happens with Mari and we go round and round. I guess it didn't occur to me that anyone would like yet another Randy Newman theme that sounds just like his last ten movie songs. (Monsters Inc, Toy Story 1 and 2, Babe, etc, etc) I saw no reason to get rid of the original catchy tune. And sometimes I like a parody much more if it mocks something I'm ticked off at. I feel the same weay about the lame new "Star Trek" song that Johnny made fun of. Anyway, I say this sort of thing to Mari. You got fives. Don't complain.
Adagio - February 25, 2005 - Report this comment
What matters here, Rick, is not the tune, but what I do with it. It really doesn't matter if I like it or not. I really do appreciate the vote - I personally like comments. But, thanks for the parody fodder.

hi, i liked the first theme song better too, though i do like this one. but i didn't really think your parody was particularly clever of funny sorry, it just didn't work so well, and was a bit, ok what words fit in here. anyway... keep going with it
rach - January 17, 2008 - Report this comment
this parody was a bummer i like the new theme song and the show who honestly listens to randy newman that much to care whether his songs song the same?
