The Lyrics

2600TH PARODY, Y'ALL! And as is my tradition, I have taken a song I parodied back when I was stupid and inexperienced and re-parody along a vaguely similar topic. Last time I wrote about WWII. This time, let's shift time back even further...
Archduke gets shot!

That's all that I could write down
Because it's all I know about the first World War (uh)
That feels a little awful
If not just completely bad to the core (ah)
Would take a little readin'
So that I can know what did happen and how (uh)
That's not a lot to ask
But will I do it? Never, too much effort now (c'mon)

Great War, Great War
Great War, Great War
Great War, Great War
Great War, Great War

I think the Russians had a revolution
But that was unrelated, threw a wrench in it all (ah)
Then there was Belgium, poor, defenceless Belgium
In the way of invasion, man, the absolute gall (ah)
Both sides were fightin' deep inside the trenches
They're shootin' and shootin' and shootin'
And shootin' (shootin') and shootin' (shootin', huh), no friggin' endin'
And why, oh why, oh why, oh why, oh why, oh
Was "the Great War" its title when there's nothin' compellin' there

Great War (not much of a story, just some gunnin' lads, uh-oh)
Great War (uh-oh, say what you will 'bout Nazis)
Great War (uh-oh, they had iconography, uh-oh)
Great War (uh-oh, pronounced that wrong (uh), I know it)
Great War (uh-oh, I knew that I would blow it, uh-oh)
Great War (I'm, uh-oh, I'm, uh-oh)
Great War (I'm graspin' at nothin', uh-oh, light on straws, got nothin')
Great War (hey, alright now)

What am I sayin'? Yeah
What's the point of this catchy joint? Don't know
I can't tell ya
Ask what's the, the point of this catchy joint? Don't know (ooh)
They fight and fight and fight and fight and fight and fight and fight
And fight and fight and fight and fight and fight and fight and fight
Could call me lazy, yeah
So many things written down about the whole effort
Why should I read what they wrote down? Got nothin'
Just a steppin' stone war to the Nazi endeavour
That's the real endin', does not sound better, ah! Here we go, uh

Whalin', wha-whalin', whalin', wha-whalin' (uh-oh)
Whalin', wha-whalin', whalin'
Whalin', wha-whalin' (uh-oh), whalin' 'til someone was the victor, Great War
Maybe, ma-maybe (okay), maybe, ma-maybe, maybe
Maybe (okay), maybe it's not, maybe that's not much of a picture
Call me an arsehole, that could be true (whalin', wha-whalin', whalin', wha-whalin', whalin')
I'd move the fault for why I'm bored (whalin', wha-whalin', whalin' 'til someone was the victor, Great War)
But, you know, that would just be rude, hahaha, my fault that I'm rude (maybe, ma-maybe, maybe, ma-maybe, maybe)
Just don't care, it's true (maybe, ma-maybe, maybe that's not much of a picture)

Great War (uh-oh), Great War (uh-oh)
Great War (uh-oh), Great War (uh, oh, Great War)
Great War (uh-oh), Great War (oh, oh, uh-oh)
Great War (uh-oh), Great War (uh-oh)
Great War

I mean, the only reason that the first Wonder Woman was set in WWI despite her being created in 1941 was because Captain America kinda stole her thunder there and the DCEU had enough accusations of playing piggyback on the MCU as is. Well, that's what I assume. I need to care about the DCEU to be willing check for sure. And the timing of a war parody on the 4th of July, both associated with things blowing the hell up, was a total coincidence. I meant for this to be submitted last Friday, but that fell through for update reasons. And why would I time things for today (assuming the website updates for said day)? I'm an Aussie, the 4th of July means nothing to me.
