The Lyrics

Today's installment of "Tropes that TCOP Feels Like Rambling About": The Badbutt!
Uh (whoo!), I'm shocked, y'all, yeah, sounds sad and awkward, buddy (whoo!)
Y'all should know (uh) about this common toon-based fiasco (yeah, huh)
There are tropes that are worse, believe me, yeah, uh ("kick tush"? No)
But this one right here (whoo!) I can't believe this one right here
It's just so stupid, I'm not lyin' (yeah) You know what I'm sayin' (it sucks)? Easily starts me wheezin', geez
Ahaha, know what I'm talkin' 'bout? No? Check it out (whoo!), uh

Don't spot it when you're still six, watchin' shows as a kid
Never grasp tropes and those conventional tricks
But when on a kick of youth revisits
There are lots of things you start to notice are shit (uh)
The one that gets the focus right here
Is when "badass" gets filtered through what can get on air, yeah (uh)
A character made to be appealin'
Without calls for repealin' for any antics
That could cause any damage, on a cig, can't drag it
Granted, can see from that point of vantage, uh (whoo!)
But still the "bad boy", his brand is
C-cool, c-cool, c-cool, but I have to be candid, so
I keep laughin' very hard
All the times his lollipop gets popped out, lungs are scarred, yeah
Writers said "So he can glare right here
But I'm sorry, we can't have much swearin' here"

So he says "kick tush", "kick tush", "kick tush", "kick tush, bro"
On the floor I roll, he's a rebel, so I'm told, but no phrase is bold
No, he says "kick tush", "kick tush", "kick tush", "kick tush, bro"
Such a restrainin' leash, just a rebel stuck inside what's rated G
"Gang, let's kick (uh) some tush (y-yeah, y-yeah, yeah), let's go"
Uh (yeah), uh, uh (y-yeah), uh (y-yeah, yeah)

A sick jacket on his shoulders, could he be any colder?
Yeah, just a bit, one trick that I would suggest:
A fightin' style that sticks out further from all the rest
Could get dirty and nasty with his style
Must he still stick to the still-frame punches now?
Sucks a whole bunch, enjoyment is fallin' down, uh
But then can't be stabbin' dudes
Can't be a spray of red nasty goo from slashin' through
And no rounds from a gun of any sort will see some use
Won't blow down a whole damn army like "Blam! Kapow!" now (whoo!)
That can't be done, I fear
Just because his "'tude" sucks, can't go hard "R" here
Could at least vary it up, smack villains with a club
Baseball bat to clock bad guys, act rough a bit
Prove it's more than aesthetics here
Executives must've said "I'm sorry, no legit stuff here"

So he says "kick tush", "kick tush", "kick tush", "kick tush, bro"
Won't win "cool guy" polls, no matter how you try to convince me so
'Cause he says "kick tush", "kick tush", "kick tush", "kick tush, bro"
So I just laugh and wheeze at the rebel strainin' to make this PG
"Gang, let's kick (uh, uh) some tush, yeah (whoo!), yeah (whoo!), let's go"
Yeah, uh, (haha), laughin', yeah, yeah

His attitude is so subdued, he isn't some punk
Got a bland logo shirt, no forehead studs
He might push the lead into tattoo stores
Got one on his shoulder, that's the bad dude score
But the lead'll never get one, makes his back too sore
Cool guy leaves him to choose, never leadin', good kid (good kid)
Might hang around the sketchiest bad routes
It drives me crazy, he's soft as a damn mouse within (within)
He'll always prove he cares
Too many times, it drives me spare (spare), uh
Dialogue's filled with milder swears
But the main character's said "He's real kind, no fear"

Yes, he says "kick tush", "kick tush", "kick tush", "kick tush, bro"
Really makes the whole phrase "rebel without a cause" spin in its grave, blows
How he says "kick tush", "kick tush", "kick tush", "kick tush, bro"
It's a minor peeve, lame-ass rebel, can't do anything non-G
"Gang, let's kick (uh, uh) some tush, yeah (whoo!), yeah (whoo!), let's go"
Haha, laughin', mmm, mmm

Fun fact (maybe): I used to think that Lupe was actually saying "C-cool, c-cool, c-cool" in the first verse, but it turns out it was actually "Ka-kunk, ka-kunk, ka-kunk", that being onomatopoeia for the sound a skateboard makes when going down a sidewalk. The more you know!
