makes a racket,
singing scat with its crew,
and they scream too.

Upon the back fence it will linger
and won’t “shoo.”

god! ’lines vex me so.
I throw at it my shoes—
many pair I lose.

I’ve love to maim

It is a game,

and it won’t hush!
The sound’s turning my brain to mush.
I’ll go insane;
its voce far from “sotto.”

I’m awoken
by the baying
of a mutt that’s also being driven mad
by high-decibel caterwauling.
It’s mournful sound is annoying yet somehow sad.

Me and the cur annoyed—
god! ’lines vex me so.

sometimes hit the booze.
