Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Get your minds out of the gutter, people, this is not about what the title might suggest. I went to the dentist last week. While I was waiting in the chair, the radio played "Bad Day" by Daniel the Pouter, "You're Beautiful" by James the Blunt Instrument, "Dancing Queen" by ABBA, and "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You" by Rod Stewart -- the last being a great song, but I'll forever know it as the wedding song for a couple that recently had a very acrimonious divorce. After all that, a novocaine needle didn't feel so bad.
(instrumental opening)

This doc is brilliant.

This doc is brilliant.
He'll find the cure.
Hygenist's angel
and that's for sure.
I broke a tooth at Subway.
I was such a stupid man.
So I go to dentist and
he's got a plan.

My root is pulled!
My root is pulled!
My root is pulled!
It's true!

My aching face
novocaine-laced
and there's nothing I can do.
Doc, I've put my trust in you.

It goes to my eye
toothache pain shoots by.
You can see it in my face
it makes me want to cry.
It looks so bad and it feels like crap.
Gotta pull one tooth and give
the other a cap.

My root is pulled!
My root is pulled!
My root is pulled!
It's true!

My aching face
novocaine-laced
and there's nothing I can do.
Doc, I've put my trust in you.

La-da-da, da-da, da...
La-da-da, da-da, da...
La-da-da, da-da, da...
Da....

My root is pulled!
My root is pulled!
My root is pulled!
It's true!

Hygenist, youre an angel.
You've put a smile on my face.
But for now, I cannot be with you.

'Cause it's time to face the truth.
Soon my teeth are good as new.
Actually, it'll take more visits than that to fully fix my teeth: http://www.amiright.com/parody/70s/paulsimon22.shtml

I really like this (as much as you can like the dentist) - took me right back to the other week when my dentist replaced two of my fillings. 555.

I can sympathize with you. The whole parody cracked me up - especially the line about Subway. But I really do love their food.

A few pacing stumbles, but pretty good. 455. After listening to that song selection, I wouldn't have needed novocaine; my head would have already been numb.
