"Bad Restaurant (Slime on my Knife)"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Ate at a restaurant
A fork covered in mould
What's swimming in my soup
(Which came out icy cold)?

I never waste - I took a taste
It wasn't nice
An infestation
Of cockroaches, rats and mice

The food was near inedible
There's something in the rice
What's worse, there was some grime on my knife

So take the starter back
The main course soon arrives
Scrapings from an overweight
Wrestler with hives

Strewn with half-masticated
Nostril-juice: not sweet
That's not a steak,
It is green maggot-wriggling meat

It's something uncomestible
The salad's half alive
As snails and slugs trail slime on my knife

It's something that's uneatable
With bugs this things alive
And I saw something climb on my knife

The food was indigestible
It kept me up all night
It must have been the slime on my knife

Great Job!! And thanks, now I'll know not to eat at that restaurant! LOL! Good work! ;-)

Q: Waiter, what's that fly doing in my soup?

A: "Looks like the backstroke".

It isn't every parodist who can pen such vividly descriptive lyrics... thank goodness... ;) 555

Yeah got to watch for those restaurants, especially fast food cuz some people who handle food might carry hepatitis. Good thing I got inoculated for that as a kid. Cleaning up with 5s.

Lord, I enjoy your parodies Phil. This doesn't disappoint, although I do have a craving for some Kaopectate. 5's

Thank you for introducing me to the British variant of "mold." I hope I don't see it in any UK restaurant this fall! Good stuff, Phil. You might need to record this.

:-) Thanks everyone..

Wild Child JIN - it would be easier to avoid if I'd mentioned where it was.. fortunately, I'm happy to say that the only place this restaurant exists is in my imagination :-)

TT - "Waiter - there's a mouse in my soup"

..must have been trying to catch the fly

FG - :-) I wouldn't want too many people put off their food, either

Christie Marie M - At this place, the hepatitis was on the menu

Warren - thanks.. never heard of "Kaopectate", but I think I can guess

JJ - "Mold" is a town in Wales.. didn't realize another "u" had got lost on its way across the pond. I'll definitely be playing this one (I came up with the idea after hearing the OS played at an open mike, and thinking it was a pretty easy one todo) - whether I get round to recording it depends a lot on how many of the current lot sell.. I need to cover costs before I can think about doing another one (and the next CD is probably going to be originals rather than parodies, so we're talking quite a while before I get round to doing another parody CD)
