I did NOT enjoy this parody. The pacing wasn't bad, but wasn't great either. The content was offensive, and demeans people of Mexican descent. While I am not of Mexican or other Latino ancestry, many of my friends and colleagues are, and the cliches and stereotypes didn't make for an appealing parody. 4 for pacing, 1s for everything else.
I'm sorry if this offended anyone. Our intentions were not to do so, in fact, Weird Al made a Canadian Idiot so we figured we could one up him by writing this. I apologize again because we are not professionals and not all of us can be perfect. Most of our songs are just written to be wrote- not with any intentions to provoke anyone's race.
I'm also very apologetic for offending anybody. This was our second song, so of course we'll have a couple of mistakes, but people learn from their mistakes, and we are not perfect. We weren't going for stereotypes or anything like that. The way I see it is, Green Day did American Idiot, Weird Al did Canadian Idiot, so Mexico is the only one without an idiot song. See? Now all of North America is included. As I said before, I'm very apologetic to anyone we offended.
Don't forget, Anna Mendenhall made American Indian on this website, so now practically everyone is included. Would Austrailian Idiot offend you Andria? Huh? Does it? DON'T MESS WITH MY CLIENT! By the way, love the song guys!
