The Lyrics

Whether you like autobots from Norway or robbing banks... you most likely prefer one to the other. I'll be amazed if anyone understands this comment. Enjoy my parody about robbing banks, because you all know it's something you've always wanted to try.
You wanna join in a Super Bank Robbery?
You like abiding the law, then don’t bother me
If you can pass the bar with dishonesty
Or like blowing things up, well then follow me

Welcome, here’s the van and the heist crew
First, here’s Lump, who you should be nice to
Tim’s our man in the van and he likes shoes
Sidney here can crack any glass vault
Jay, the inside man, guards the asphalt
And if we fail, it’s your fault

To do the job, first climb up this spire-thing
Crawl through the vents, disable the wiring
All we can give you: gloves and this plier-thing
And at some point men with guns might be firing

Climb away on ropes of suspension
Almost fall to build up the tension
Tethered five stories up you’ll dodge search lights
We forgot to check on the gas tank
If we survive, Tim gets a good spank
It’s really hard to rob banks

You wanna join in a Super Bank Robbery
Help spread the wealth in a shaky economy
Make it big without using the lottery
And if you like, you can talk like Sean Connery

RUN NOW, we need help on the first floor
Lump just jammed himself in the front door
Tim needs five minutes more, but we have four
Sidney tripped alarms after he fell
Jay freaked and now there is a bad smell
I say I think that went well

Great idea... A heist movie set to a Green Day song, What can get better than that?

Thanks, Matt. Your continued support of the many authors on amiright enhances the community in ways I'm very thankful for. No joke.

On a reread, there are several syllable stress mis-steps between my parody and the OS. I'm choosing to dislike the OSs varied and random syllable stresses because matching a parody to the original stresses would have forced me to step all over my theme in some areas. I know, diva moment I guess. I hope you all enjoyed it. I'm stopping now

Awesome and it reminds me of that Dane Cook joke that every man at one point in his life wants to a part of a bank robbery. Loved the line: "And if you like, you can talk like Sean Connery" (Bond, James Bond!)

I don't know why...I thought some of the other parodies were cleverer...but this one made me LAUGH! 5-5-5. Maybe it's the cast of characters.

(Ages2) Very clever writing here, 2nz. Not sure why you chose to have an AAABBB rhmying scheme for the chorus instead of the original's AACBBD scheme. 555 (please explain the Autobots from Norway gag, I'm dying to know)!

AGES...my favorite of the bunch, 2nz...(so far...I think I might have skipped one in the list somewhere)...just flat out funny. Excellent pacing...5s for sure!

Ages. . .I thought this one overall was very good. . .the thing is I didn't find any big punch lines, every line though was good. Just needed something to step it into that next level. . .Great song choice, and there are very of this particular Green Day song that don't suck-so kudos on that.

Let's face it. I'm a fan of parodies with a storyline and a cast of characters. This has both. And, I must say, I'm a fan of your writing as well.
I loved the "Sean Connery" ref.
Great last stanza and final line.
