The Lyrics

Part of my Ages of Amiright, competition... Event 1
On my bum, scarf Pizza Hut
Let loose my pants to free my gut
I sit and stare, glued to my chair
Watching a small 20 inch square

Early Morning till Primetime
I'm watching sex and loads of crime
"Family Guy"
Watching "CSI"
Infomercials making my brain drip

Haven't moved since ‘83
Memorizing my TV
TV Land, which I don't leave
There's "Beaver" and "Lucy"!

Got my television fixed
VH1 I'm watching Styx
My living room's a concealed tomb
Where I'm watching bad Anime

"Win, Lose, Or Draw's" on TV Set
The Food Channel, and "Jefferson's"
Then Mary Jane, letting cartoons reign
"Spider-Man", "The Hulk", Lois Lane

And I'm way too damned lazy
Starring at Patrick Swayze
I'm a fan of Irwin, Steve
And yes, "The King of Queens"

(Commercial Break)
(Returns with Part II: "Sh*tty Shows Demand)

With a massive ‘mount of girth
In a La-Z Boy
"Everybody Loves Raymond's" my one true joy
Where Robert's robust and he whines

They say home is where your heart is
That's home not "House"
Cause that one doctor guy's
A freaking louse
He's greeting with frowns and sighs

(T…)
"Skating with the Stars"
(…V)
I can't stand "Anatomy of Gray's"
(T…)
"Scrubs" I like, but not "Yes, Dear"
(…V)
Sh*tty shows demand
(T…)
"Lost", "Queer Eye", "Trading Spaces"… Cliché
(…V)
I watch it all, just sit and stare

I watch History
Channel, and watched HBO
Watched the Food Network, and the "Muppet Show"
Cartoons "SpongeBob", and "Recess"

I viewed some "Baywatch"
Saw that Hasselhoff perm
That the Germans of this Earth
Thought he ruled the world
But I could really care less

(T…)
Roddenberry's "Trek"
(…V)
Episodes of *gag* that, "Dharma and Greg"
(T…)
"Wings", "The Jetsons", and "Frasier"
(…V)
Sh*tty Shows Demand
(T…)
"Lost In Space", "Beverly Hillbillies"
(…V)
Still I'm sitting in this chaaaaaaaaair!!!

(Another Commercial Break)
(Returns With Part III: In This Chair)

In this chair, I watch shows
In this chair, I watch shows
In this chair, I watch shows there

In this chair, I watch shows
In this chair, I watch shows
In this chair, I watch shows there

In this chair, I watch shows
In this chair, I watch shows
In this chair, I watch shows there

In this chair, I watch shows
In this chair, I watch shows
In this chair, I watch shows there

In This Chaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaair!!!

Tim Allen's "Home Improvement"
MTV has Fiddy-Cent
"Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?"
Watched "South Park", and then watched "Cheers"
"Goodbye you are the Weakest Link"
From "Daily Show", down to "Twin Peaks"
So much to watch whilest on my butt
I'm Rufus such a TV Nut!!!!!!!

"Addams Family"
I ain't leaving my TV
"All In Family"
I ain't gonna leave
Won't leave my chair

In My Chair!
In My Chair!
In My Chair!
In My Chair!!!

(Yet Another Commercial Break)
(Part IX: Some Catchy Jingles)

These catchy jingles, which I'm listening
I can remember the words, that they are singing
"Help me I've fallen and I can't get up!"
"Meow, Meow, Meow, Meow, Meow, Meow", and then the singing pup

Oooooooh, Oooooooooh
Ooooooooh, Oooooooooh
Ooooooooh, Oooooooooh

"Pasta-Roni, San Francisco treat"
"L'Go my Eggo!" Safe-Auto, the tune repeats
"Don't squeeze the Charmin'" and "I'm Lovin' It"
For lack of a better word these jingles are the sh*t

Oooooooh, Oooooooooh
Ooooooooh, Oooooooooh
Ooooooooh, Oooooooooh

(Even yet another commercial break)
(Returns With Part X: Tales of another lost remote)

Regis… And Kathy Lee
The Part-ridge Family
Without, Without A Trace
I watch… Till my eyes bleed
And my… Huge behind
Is filling up three chairs… Due to size
But still… I sit and stare
I'm stuck… But I don't care

So I watch
I watch the screen
Housewives must be Desperate
X-Files… Is Si-Fi
Yet Springer has freakier guys
And I… Watch my shrine
Idiot Box made brain decline
But it's divine

I watched Newlywed Game
I wish I had a wife…

Till then, I'll watch Antiques Roadshow
This crap is really lame
Their brains are quite pint-sized
Looking for another lost re…MOTE!!!

I'm looking…
I'm looking…
I'm looking…
Where's The Damn Remote?!!?!?

Itll be hard to beat this, great job, awesome, makes me glad I also go to a site called Sitcoms Online cause this just might be the theme song for that. I thought it was Cletus?

I changed it in order to have something decent for the ABC-R Round. Taps forehead, Gotta keep on top of things.

i'd reccomend changing 'housewives must be desperate' to 'housewives and Ali G.', just for rhyming purposes. it just sounds better in my opinion

"strange things are afoot at the circle k" you start a competition and you come out with this ... your a cunning little devil. absolutley awsome parody 555

(Ages Comp) This was quite an amibitious work, Matthias! Good stuff. My only quibble was that you could have done more with the repeated "In this chair", and some lines could have been changed from the original. This stands as my second place choice right now.

(Ages) Ouch, what a hard song to parody. You deserve much praise for this one Matthias. . .and on top of it the original song isn't half bad, I have to be honest I'm yet to recognize any of the originals of this contest, but then I don't listen to the radio much anymore, haven't since the 90s and when I do it's the 80's channel. This song wasn't too bad, and the parody was great.

Rufus was a couch potato through and through/ food and watching TV were all he ever knew / Born with a remote in his hand / In Jackson, Mississippi down in Dixieland / His daddy died stuffed with his belly full of snacks / Mommy died eating too many Apple Jacks / People said, this ol' boy's born to be a blimp!----MM

(AGES) Holy sh*te, Matthias! That's freakin' awesome! Now I know what I'll have to go through when I start my rock opera parody which you didn't hear anything about.

(Ages) WOW! What an epic. Stunning, Matthias.

Though as a nitpick, I must ask...how come it skips from part three to part nine? ;)

Heh, heh, heh... That's the last time I do Roman Numerals... I forgot that V means five, and not X.... My bad
Ethan Mawyer - February 11, 2007 - Report this comment
Like agri said, more certainly could have been done with so much to work with, like repeating less and maybe a bit less listing of tv shows, and the pacing seemed rough in parts, but it was still quite impressive.

(ABC) TV is a bottomless resource for a list parody Matthias, and you trawled far and deep for this - my 555 goes especially to the "I can't stand "Anatomy of Gray's" line - how did Meredith Gray warrant the title of a show, ferchrissake - the whiny weed - 555

(ABC) You know what's funny here. . .I actually started reading the parody again as if I hadn't seen it and through the end I'm like, God I could have sworn I've heard this before, I knew it I knew it. . .then I read the intro. . .I have heard it, from YOU:) Anyway still a good parody. . .

I salute you sir... TV KICKS ASS!... 5-5-5
Johnny D - February 27, 2007 - Report this comment
(ABC) Y'know, the humor of this parody is due, at least in part, to the fact that it's a monumental effort about a character who's monumentally allergic to effort!
Jeff Reuben - February 28, 2007 - Report this comment
Styx rules! Excellent job on a long tough song. I do agree with Ethan and Agrimorfee on the repetition (subtle changes to the "In The Chair, I watch Shows lines). Picky for such a good long song, I know =)

(ABC3) Holy crap I'm dizzy from reading all of that. Channel 555.

(ABC) Finally, a theme song for couch potatos! I'm unfamiliar with the original song, but obviously it's very long. Good job, Matthias.
