The Lyrics

Well, got through Hurricane Wilma unscaved...but what a hurricane season we've had! 22 named storms with a month still to go! I just HAD to write this one. Share and enjoy!
Ka-trina's come and passed
Who know if New Or-leans will last
Wake me up when 'cane season ends!

Here I sit in my boarded dorm
E-ver since Ar-lene was formed
Wake me up when 'cane season ends!

Here comes the winds again
Swirling at my door
Drenching my grass again
Becoming a "Cat 4"

As my power goes out
O'er re-ports of Lee, I shout:
Wake me up when 'cane season ends!

Ri-ta has come and passed
Galveston's oil goes so fast
Wake me up when 'cane season ends!

Stock-piling cans again
Like we did when Irene span
Wake me up when 'cane season ends!

Here comes the winds again
Swirling 'round the eye
Drenching my grass again
Becoming a "Cat 5"

As my power goes out
O'er re-ports of Stan, I shout:
Wake me up when 'cane season ends!

Wil-ma has come and passed
South Florida is drowned at last
Wake me up when 'cane season ends!

Out of names, now the storms we seek
Named for let-ters from the Greek
Wake me up when 'cane season ends!
Wake me up when 'cane season ends!
I'll come out when November ends!
Give to the Red Cross! Give to hurricane charities! Give whatever you CAN! Practically the entire Atlantic and Gulf Coast needs all the help they can GET!!

Very good parody Chris.

Pretty awesome! I'm giving you a 555. Was this supposed to be funny? It's kind of sad, but so is the original song. I've been trying to make a parody of this, but I can't think of one.

Allicat, it's sort of a "dark funny" song. Not incredibly funny if you've been THROUGH one of the hurricanes named...but humorous enough if you haven't or if you've lived through three in 13 months...like I have. Really, the only thing you can do at this point IS laugh that Mother Nature hasn't killed you yet. :) But the message in the afterthought is serious; give relief to those way worse off than we are.

Have you been hit by a hurricane or something? Sorry, I'm just wondering. I'm glad I don't live in New Orleans or Florida or anywhere like that. I would be so terrified if I wasn't already dead. Not too many category 5 storms in New England- the most I've ever gotten is a tornado warning.
