The Lyrics

Oh, boy...now I know what Spaff meant when he said he 'went through hell' to parody this. Jeez, did it have to be 6 VERSES?!?! It's almost as hard as a rap song (But 'My Band' by D12...was that hard or what?!)
A long, long time ago...
No-one can remember
How that Primus made all Transformers
Then someone went and caused a fight
Who did, I just don't know, allright?!
But still, they had to go and start a war

And Megatron, he gives me shivers
With every shot that he delivers
Starscream took a bold step
He only ruined his rep

And now that Unicron has died
Which made a black hole, where we reside
Well, close enough, and so we tried
Away from home we flied

We followed that there Optimus Prime
Cause that Megsy took that map-thing
Now we all have to fly
And them Autobots were scanning new forms but why?
Because if we get discovered we'll die
Thanks a lot, Decepticon guys

Did Ransack cheat in the Race?
Well, no duh, but I still have great faith
In that warrior, Hot Shot
Why'd CrumpleZone ride on Ransack?
Can anyone not laugh at that?
And I think that, in that round, they so lost

Well, I know that Optimus ain't quick
But he was able to help a bit
He drove off that big gap
Then, Hot Shot drove off him, like that

I was just watchin' from our base on Earth
"Hot Shot's been racing since his birth"
I thought, and then I had great mirth
When he came first by wide

Coby was singin'
"My, my, he just beat Override"
Got the Key, sweet victory
Did you see when he flied?
Them little kids, so happy they almost cried
I'm thinkin' "He got some damage on the side
But still he gave Prime so much pride"

For many years, Jungle Planet's gone
And made some changes, people were torn
But that's not how it used to be
When the pupil talked to his master
He went mad and, like he was plastered
He became king of what he could see
Oh, and while Scourge was on his own throne
Overhaul came, and fought alone
The Jungle Cyber Key
Came and now he was free
He had now become Leobraker
And he fought Scourge, it didn't work
And Lori came and talked, and her
Way worked, she got her prize

She was singin'
"My, my, look here, Optimus Prime!
I got the key from old Scourgey
Just by talkin' real nice!"
Then Snarl, Leobraker's friend and comrade, said 'hi'
He's sayin' "I won't put the key in the side!
Oh, alright, but only this time."

Primus' spark, Megatron has got
A rail gun, he is shooting at Hot Shot
Red Alert and Scattershot
They landed, whacked, on the ground
After they had taken a big pound
Now they're on the sidelines, Prime is coming 'round

Now Scourge and Megatron wouldn't leave
So Op. Prime and Leobraker seethed
Those battered guys were down
Oh, but it wasn't for long now!
'Cause they would never ever give up
Primus' spark filled them like a cup
They took new forms, they now could give
A whup to Megatron

They popped out singin'
"Hi, hi, Mr. Megatron Guy
We've gained lots of firepower
Now it's your turn to die!"
Them Cyber Keys gave them a good blast of fire
And Megatron flew off like a big sissy
Scourge followed his plan of retreat

Oh, and there they were all in one place
The ancient Decepticons from space
A lot of time they had waited
For someone to free them from their cold jail
Age of Starscream started to hail
'Cause powere is the evil bum's best friend

Oh I watched him grow in his lair
No-one could match his size, I swear
No Autobot on Earth
Could match his mighty girth
As his legions of soldiers filled the sky
To shoot the Autobots on sight
I saw Optimus use all his might
To make sure they all died

He was singin'
"My, my these Decepticon guys
They keep coming, never going
And they black out the sky!"
I joined him as with all the rest of the guys
While Starscream wore his giant crown with much pride
He hadn't reckoned with Op. Prime

Getting off the subject for now
Don't you think it's outright unfair how
Those Yanks are so really lucky
I go down to my local store
To find the toys that I'd read 'bout 'fore
But I couldn't find them. Stupid website thing!

'Cause the Yanks get new figures first
Even when they are the total worst
And not a word is spoken
'Bout how Aus fans feel broken
'Cause the toy line I admire most
First ships to USA, they don't boast
Then fin'lly they get to our coast
By then, my brain is fried

I started singing
"Oy vey, why do Hasbro's head boys
Make Down Under wait for longer
'Till we get the new toys?
Oh, it really sucks, a wonder we don't make noise
Yellin' "We want Crosswise and Downshift now!
We will get them, we don't care how

I'm complaining
"Why, why? Want that new Override
And the rest of the Defense Team
And that Wing Saber guy
That Cannonball, and who could forget Primus?
I will get them before the time I die"
I had a thought! The song's called Transformer Pie...but what would a transforming pie look like, eh?

I fived you, conqueror, because the pacing was fresh. Although I'm not familiar with this Transformers universe (in my day, Override was an edgy motorcycle, Scourge was a beardy henchman, Red Alert a nervous wreck and Scattershot commander of the Technobots) I think you totally handled the lyrics well. Salute from an older Transfan to a younger. Till all are one.

I used to watch that a long time ago, and I liked the parody. 555s

(SOTM) Not so perfectly matched for pacing, I think, but I really do like all the work you put into it, so I don't have the heart to vote with literal numbers. Other than the existence of Optimus Prime, I know zilch about the Transformers, so I learned something new today. Glad to have read it.

(SOTM) I don't know anything about Transformers, except I have heard of Optimous Prime, if only from Entertainment Weekly or some magazine like that or maybe the Internet (I forget). The pacing wasn't perfect, so I couldn't give you a five for that. But I loved the lyrics and your neverending rhymes for American Pie. And I just now noticed that you got the decade wrong, but that doesn't effect my final vote. What can I say? If I can say Britney Spears did this in the 1970s, then feel free to say that Don McLean recorded this in the 2000s. 455 Great work!

I figure you put this one up in the SOTM for the comments rather than votes, right? You've been around for some contests now and I'm sure you've noticed a parody as specific as this at best picks up a few points, even if it's good. But I've for me noticed that by next year there will be a million dollar budget movie based on the Transformers, so I guess you'll have the last laugh anyway. (And last I say about it was that they signed up Jon Woight for it, him being the father of Angelina Jolie there might be a cameo in the wings, and every 15+ man in the country will rush to the theather, and with you being years ahead on the rest of us on the script/characters you'll be one of the few able to enjoy both the plotholes, wormholes and curves). :-P

Billion(!!!) dollar budget, and last I saw...

Oh, K1chyd, do I know about the Transformers movie. The trailer's set to be released 4th o' July this year, with the movie exactly one year after that. And you're damn right about the comments/votes thing.

(SOTM) You're a braver parodist than I, to slay the mighty American Pie. I don't need to know a lot about the Transformers to appreciate the work you put into this.
Rick C - May 09, 2006 - Report this comment
(SOTM) I know nothing about Transformers but, I admire your handling of this beast of an OS. 555
Cat - May 10, 2006 - Report this comment
(SOTM) As someone who's just conquered the Pie herself, great job! You could have used a few more rhymes, but that's all right. And I'm not familiar with the subject, but then again, I got that a lot last month with my Bode Miller parody, so the amount of research you put into this is definitely admirable.

(SOTM) Story style song parodies are particularly difficult. Well done.

SOTM-Amazingly, you've handled an 8 minute song.

An entire American Pie about a toy?! Now that takes serious skills!!!

555, very good.

(SOTM) This is one of those songs I can never sing over the original (perhaps a MIDI track), so I didn't dock you on pacing. What Larry, Scathe, Max and Matthias said too. Great effort here bobpiecheese, and kudos for the variations in the choruses. 5s
Johnny D - May 28, 2006 - Report this comment
(SOTM) Pacing's not perfect, but a vote of 5 for Pacing means "Lots", not "Perfect", and anybody who can get this close to American Pie's pacing deserves a 5 in that category. 4 for How Funny & 5 for Overall. Good job.

Thought I'd commented on this one first time around - not particularly into Transformers, but I have a son who used to be. Well-written: you obviously know way too much about a dire cartoon series than anyone really should ;-)

(SOTM) there's clearly a whole exciting world out there that I'm missing out on bobpie - and Iiked the way you got a good ole Aussie whinge in there at the end ;-)

SOTM...the only thing I know about transformers is that when I was in about the 3rd or 4th grade, I invited a boy over to my house to play, and he brought a truck that turned into a robot. When he left, he forgot to take it with him, and I never gave it back. Sometimes I still feel guilty...but mostly, I just sit and wonder what made him think that a girl like me was going to want to play with a truck that turned into a robot. ; )

Oh...and this is supposed to be about you. Sorry about that. Nice job...=)

(SOTM) I have a friend on deviantART.com who would LOVE this, but I'm afraid I'm lost. I mean, I get the pacing and the OS and all, I'm just not an expert on TFs. Now I know how other people feel when they read some of my car parodies...
