The Lyrics

Bob Winter created the Bud Light "Real Men of Genius" ads. David Bickler of Survivor is the singer. Pete Stacker is the announcer. As of June 24, 2006, they've done 146 such ads, but, as yet, no "Mr. Parody Song Writer."
(Singer)
Real Men of Genius!

(Announcer)
Amiright salutes you, Mr. Unattentive Father!

(Singer)
Mr. Unattentive Father!

(Announcer)
Your kid just wanted you to teach him to throw
the new ball you got him for his tenth birthday.
But you said, "Not today, I've got a lot to do!"

(Singer)
Not today!

(Announcer)
And now, 32 years later, your kid isn't just the subject of
"Cat's In the Cradle" by Harry Chapin,
but the song has been parodied 25 times!
Once for every year your kid's been in therapy!

(Singer)
Real Men of Genius!

(Announcer)
Amiright salutes you, Mr. Homicidal Mama's Boy!

(Singer)
Mr. Homicidal Mama's Boy!

(Announcer)
You came out of Bohemia and gave us your magnificent Rhapsody!

(Singer)
Any way the wind blows!

(Announcer)
And you only had to kill one man to do it!
But there are 160 parodies to your song!

(Singer)
Magnifico!

(Announcer)
So we salute you!

(Singer)
Real Men of Genius!

(Announcer)
Amiright salutes you, Mr. Very Modern Major General!

(Singer)
Mr. Very Modern Major General!

(Announcer)
You chose not to be the old-style heartless killing machine.
No, no, you chose to be a man who knows things like
history, algebra, and even trigonometry!

(Singer)
With many cheerful facts about
the square of the hypoteneuse!

(Announcer)
For that, you not only got a Major General's two stars,
you've gotten 43 parodies!

(Singer)
Sir, yes, sir!

(Announcer)
So, of course, YOU get a salute!

(Singer)
Real Men of Genius!

(Announcer)
Amiright salutes you, Mr. Beautiful-Girl Watcher!

(Singer)
Mr. Beautiful-Girl Watcher!

(Announcer)
No, not the man in the O'Kaysions' 1968 soul classic.
I'm talking about the British geek with the big nose
and the bare chest and bare feet in the snow
who jumps off a cliff because the beautiful girl
will never be with him!

(Singer)
It's true!

(Announcer)
I guess you finally got it through your head
that the other man with her on the subway
was her guy.
It's just as well.

(Singer)
Just as well!

(Announcer)
He would've kicked your ass.

(Singer)
So would she!

(Announcer)
And she'll never be with you!

(Singer)
Real Men of Genius!

(Announcer)
Amiright salutes you, Mr. Skater-Boy Punk Rocker!

(Singer)
Mr. Skater-Boy Punk Rocker!

(Announcer)
You had the raddest moves at the skate park,
but you couldn't get the girl!

(Singer)
I'll show her!

(Announcer)
So you added rock and roll to your repertoire!
Now you're not just skating like Tony Hawk,
you're racking up hit songs like Clay Aiken!
What do you get with that combination?

(Singer)
About halfway!

(Announcer)
And now, you've not only got the girls,
but you've shown that first one
just what she was missing!

(Singer)
Can I make it any more obvious?

(Announcer)
Yes, this is how the story ends...
152 parodies later!

(Singer)
Real Men of Genius!
Remember, some of the real "Real Men of Genius" are heroes, but some are just ridiculous.

Wow, only 2 votes here and I'm the first to comment? Michael, this is one of your best parodies ever! However, I told you there were more Bo Raps than Sk8er Boi parodies here, and there are closer to 80 Major General parodies here, heh heh

But, this is excellent. Great job working in what you did, and for being the first to parody the commercials. I was considering these last week for parody. The pacing is irrelevant since all the commercials vary quite a bit from each other, unless these actually pace to specific ones. Super high 5s.

PS - Aren't they called "Real American Heros" now, or was that the original name?
Michael Pacholek - June 28, 2006 - Report this comment
According to Wikipedia, Ant is right: The original title was indeed "Real American Heroes." After 9/11, they changed it to "Real Men of Genius." Strangely, the only two I can remember are "Mr. Foot-Long Hot Dog Inventor" (an apparently sincere commercial) and "Mr. Really Bad Toupee Wearer" (an apparently sarcastic one).
