The Lyrics
The Wampus Cat is a cryptic related to the Cougar cat which is a distortion of Cherokee legend. No such cat ever existed. The fake cougar was a Cherokee female spy in a cougar skin sent to listen to the Wolf Brothers to gain knowledge. They were Ewah spies. Legend has it that if caught, the woman would be turned into a cougar variant beast that would hunt other Ewah. Never happened.
Ewah spy in hide is bold
Cougar skin wrapped on
On all fours in brush awaits
For forbidden tales of old
The Wolf Brothers at camp are high
Sing to the Spirit in the sky
Ewah spy naked and cold
Slowly soldiers on
Fake predator lies in wait
With an ear for all that's told

Forgot to give credit to Blaydeman for inspiration for this parody. I am a big cat lover anyway and have wrote about the Liger, Tigon, Pumapard, and Maltese Tiger here already plus other cryptic cats... but I remembered the Wampus Cat controversy in the cryptids thinking about the Cougar topic of yesterday.
