The Lyrics

Scenario is post D-Day in France with a Tiger crew having traveled under cover of night and hiding for a daylight fight. Allied tanks are approaching and they are ready...
Just wait, Ja!

HALT! Must stop!
The Allied tanks are on their way, today
We’ve had it rough
Allied fighter-bombers hunt night and day, we stay
They might think that we can’t take it all alone
We’re in a…

[Chorus]
Tiger right in the way
88 (mm) pointing their way
Their rounds just can’t penetrate when they score
In… our… Tiger

Which is stronger than tanks of the enemy
They certainly should know
Tigers don’t scare easily
They may think they are strong, but we’ll prove them wrong
We’re in a…

Tiger right in the way
88 (mm) pointing their way
Their rounds just can’t penetrate when they score
In… our… Tiger

Head on, now
Oh, Ja!

Here we go, all alone
Our Stukas are handy, but they’re long since gone
Here we go, all alone
Our gun is steady, armor is strong
Here we go, in sight, here we go

Tiger right in the way
88 (mm) pointing their way
Their rounds just can’t penetrate when they score
In… our… Tiger

Tiger right in the way
88 (mm) pointing their way
Their rounds just can’t penetrate when they score
In… our… Tiger

[88 opens up at 2000 meters!!!]

I think that only the Sherman Firefly with the 17 pounder could take the Tigers on with some confidence on the west front. Nice details in the story-telling Robert!

I'd agree that all-around that the Panther was the best german tank of WW2, but no one on either side is ever gonna forget the sight and capabilities of the two Tigers. They had best armor, forepower, but weighing so much lacked mobility, the poor Maybach HL230 straining with the transmission to move those beasts and breaking down. The suspension was excellent, however, and with a good gunner you could fire on the move which was nearly impossible with almost every other Allied tank. Low production numbers meant that even though they killed tons of enemy armor, they were deluged and fell anyway to lack of gas, ammo, and Allied airpower. most Tigers were simply abandoned in 1945. Those killed in action more likely to be ny aircraft than by another tank and odds were in their favor 8:1 against any Allied tanks. One can only guess what would have happened if the enemy ran into a Maus or E-100 or even Next-gen PzKpfw IX if the war had gone on...
