The Lyrics

This song is for those who DKTOS for 'The One Of Us'. And could somebody PLEASE tell me what song to parody to let Jabez (see 'Bog Off', 'Needs Fat', and 'Smells Like A Jabez') know that I'm sorry...
Empty spaces with no comments oh
Distant faces write nothing and then go
Without them within here, I can't find no rest
"Who is writing?" that's anybody's guess

I've tried to let you know that I am speaking
You're awake but your brain is half asleep
I pray for this par'dy to be noticed
So when I am writing comments, my name is bobpiecheese

Red Ant tells me I should put them on
But I am waiting for someone to write just one
Fellas, hey, fellas
It's written in this song
You still wonder 'Who's that guy who just wrote on?'

I've tried to write a song that tells you all this
D.K.T.O.S is all that I get
I pray that you know this original
So that when you've read it, you know that I'm bobpiecheese

I don't mean to yabber on, but you need to get the picture
I don't wanna make you face this site confused
I wanna let you know (confused)

I've tried to let you know that I am speaking
You're awake but your brain is half asleep
I pray for this par'dy to be noticed
So when I am writing comments, my name is bobpiecheese

You have a point here bobpiecheese, enabling comments as I suggested isn't much help if you don't get any. There are several possibly reasons for this, including those who DKTOS, those that don't know the parody content, those that are not familiar with your work and possibly the biggest reason why I've seen that you won't get comments is not leaving many yourself. I DKTOS here unfortunately even though (I guess) this song gets/got much radio airplay.

As for an "apology" parody to your brother I don't have a good song in mind for that, and, IMO, such a parody is a bit too much of an "inside" thing for anyone other than you and your brother to understand.

There are at least two articles on inthe00s.com that might help you out, one is a FAQ, the other is a parody guide and some other things not covered in the FAQ. Here are the URLs:

A great work from the Piecheese Bobs...
Agrimorfee - July 11, 2006 - Report this comment
(ABC3) I have the same problem other Amiright surfers have with this...it's too much of an inside thing to be truly memorable.
Red Ant - July 16, 2006 - Report this comment
(ABC3B) See above, and also thanks for the shout-out in the song.

You say bobpiecheese, I say conqueror of parodies... I had never thought about the consequences of having different parody and comment names. You've got a point.

(ABC3-B) what Agri said, agreeing with Red Ant - and, my fellow Aussie, I think that any problems you may be experiencing from having 2 names on this site are kinda of your own making, so when you say we "need to get the picture" and "our brains are half-asleep" I don't feel entirely sympathatic to your plight - but I do know you well enough by now to know your style, which I like generally - so I can't really vote on this - too esoteric
bobpiecheese - July 17, 2006 - Report this comment
Stu: I don't know what the hell 'esoteric' is, but this was written quite a while ago, and it was the only 'B' song I could enter.

(ABC) Hey, don't sweat it, bobpiecheese, a lot of us have been there to some degree or another at one time or another!
Stuart McArthur - July 17, 2006 - Report this comment
yes, sorry if you thought I was being critical, bobpie - I was really only defending us readers from what seemed to be your irritation with us (that your wording suggested at least) - and by esoteric I meant too "inside" for wider reader access - but the parody was certainly worthy of submitting, because all of your parodies are, and I too have been in the position of only having one choice of what to enter a comp, so I'm with you there also ;-)
tomario - July 18, 2006 - Report this comment
very nice
Jeff Reuben - July 18, 2006 - Report this comment
I agree with the comments about being too inside, but a nice parody about yourself/amiright.
Rick C - July 19, 2006 - Report this comment
(ABC3-B) There are authors who submit but don't comment or vote on other people's work. I don't read their work any more. If I find a comment by them on one of my parodies, I will reciprocate and try to read one of theirs and leave a comment. It's you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours, as far as I'm concerned. The exception is newbies of course. I'll read their work for a bit but, if they're not reading, commenting on mine, I'll stop reading theirs.

A heartfelt plea from you bob, or c_o_p...see, that's one of the problems already, two names can confuse. My primary reason for not reading a parody is DKTOS, and that's where the age gap surfaces. I don't listen to alot of current music (my fault, I know) and if I don't recognise the tune, tend to skip over unless the title really grabs me. And yes, I'm guilty of checking out the parodies of people who read mine...which I don't feel great about, but hey...that's life. I will endeavor to read more of your stuff, bob, because you're clearly making an effort to join the amiright community in the right way....ROCK ON! 555
