Scott McKenzie's, "San Francisco (Be Sure To Wear Some Flowers In You"
The Lyrics:
If you're going to San Francisco Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair If you're going to San Francisco You're gonna meet some gentle people there
Why:
Scott McKenzie's "San Francisco (Be Sure To Wear Some Flowers In Your Hair)" was a #2 hit in the summer of 1967, which was known as the "Summer of Love". The majority of the "Summer of Love" which is 40 years old, as well as this song mainly took place in San Francisco (although some of it moved out from there) to encompass more of the world. "San Francisco (Be Sure To Wear Some Flowers In Your Hair)" was written by John Phillips of the Mamas & The Papas who was friends with Scott McKenzie.
