The bluest skies you've ever seen are in Seattle
And the hills the greenest green in Seattle.
Seattle is the largest city in the U.S. state of Washington, a state not to be confused with the nation's capital city, which is most of a continent away despite sharing the same name. Seattle is a place I've never been so far, but the song makes it sound like a place that sould be on anyone's wish list of places to see. But in any event I won't be "waiting with bated breath" to see those extraordinarily blue skies that the song alleges. By all accounts that I've heard, Seattle is one of the rainiest of U.S. cities. Perhaps someone who spent a lot of time there perceived the occasional blue skies as uncommonly blue in contrast to the more usual cloudy or rainy skies. But whatever the case, the song might be more accurate and to the point if it said "The bluest skies you've seldom seen are in Seattle" (for all I've heard, anyway).
