Real Lyrics -> Bad Grammar in Song Lyrics -> Boz Scaggs

Song lyrics aren't supposed to be a fountain of perfect english, but on the other hand some are just so atrocious, they need to get called out. We're not looking for sentance fragments or the word ain't since there are too many instances to count.

Boz Scaggs album at Amazon.com
Boz Scaggs', "Lido Shuffle"
The Lyrics:
Lido be runnin', having great big fun
Until he got the note
Why:
Two different errors here. (1) "Be" cannot be used by itself as a verb (except in the imperative mood); (2) The second part ("Until he got the note") shifts from present tense to past; should instead be "gets the note".

Boz Scaggs', "Lowdown"
The Lyrics:
You ain't got to be so bad, ain't got to be so cold
Why:
In addition to the substandard "ain't", it is also substandard to use "got" as a substitute for "have".
