Burton Cummings, "Share the Land"
Baby I'll be there to shake your hand
(Shake your hand)
Baby I'll be there to share the land
(Share the land)
That they'll be givin' away
When we all live together
Maybe I'll be there to shake your hand
(Shake your hand)
Maybe I'll be there to share the land
(Share the land)
That they'll be givin' away
When we all live together
I have to admit I was riding the wave of 70s' optimism in 1970 when I heard this. So there was no question in my mind the singer would be there to 'share the land'. I should have known that Burton Cummings, being Canadian, was a lot more cynical than that.
