Misheard Lyrics:
You know the preacher likes the cold (preacher likes the cold)
Original Lyrics:
You know the preacher lights the coal (preacher lights the coal)
It has been reported widely that Cass sang the wrong lyric "began to pray" instead of the published "pretend to pray". Her lyric kinda fits but lacks the added pathos of having to pretend to pray in order to stay in a church long enough to get in out of the cold and warm up.
