Misheard Lyrics:

Original Lyrics:
While people sat there drunk.
This song was a reflection on John Fogerty's days with The Golliwogs, an early version of Creedence Clearwater Revival. Lodi (pronounced "LOW-dye") was a 'nowhere town' and so small.
