The Story: When my husband was a young teen, he was riding in the car with his older sister and her boyfriend when the song played. He sang, 'Christmas is over, over and over', and his sister cracked up laughing. So when we hear the song, we sing the wrong lyric for fun. - Submitted by: Judy Willoughby

The Misheard Lyrics:
My baby dogs are having bacon.
The Real Lyrics:
My baby does the hanky panky.
The Story: I work as a closed captioner and captioned another song that sampled this line over and over again. I had never heard the song (either of them) before. What I transcribed made perfect sense to me. Imagine my surprise when the person who reviewed my work informed me (after they stopped laughing) what the real lyrics are. - Submitted by: Jared Levine

The Real Lyrics:
Oh my love, you've been good to me
Femme jolie, femme jolie.
The Story: In the original version of this song by Tommy James & The Shondells, it sure sounds more like angilee, angilee than it does femme jolie, femme jolie. I named my daughter, 21 years ago, after what I thought I heard in the song --> Angilee. It wasn't until I heard Tommy's live at The Bitter End cd that I realized he was not saying Angilee. I have since learned that femme jolie means 'pretty girl.' And that definitely applies to my sweetie!! - Submitted by: Dale Smith

The Story: My sister and I prided ourself on our music trivia knowledge and sang along using Bimjalee for over 30 years. A woman in my husband's high school class even named her daughter Bimjalee. - Submitted by: Shay
