Misheard Song Lyrics -> Stories -> The Fugees

Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody. For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.

This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.

Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

The Misheard Lyrics:
Strong in my pants with his finger.
The Real Lyrics:
Strumming my pain with his fingers.

The Fugees', "Killing Me Softly"
The Misheard Lyrics:
Strong in my pants with his fingers
The Real Lyrics:
Strummin' my pain with his fingers
The Story: Not misheard by me personally. The story is this: At the Dutch Idols competition, a girl sang this sentence. It was subtitled by the producers of the television program and on purpose they put the wrong sentence the girl sang there and afterwards showed a couple of question marks. It was really hilarious when it happened. Especially because the girl singing it probably never realized what she was singing at all. - Submitted by: John
The Fugees', "Ready or Not"
The Misheard Lyrics:
Radio nut, here I come.
The Real Lyrics:
Ready or not, here I come.
The Story: I thought a radio nut is a music freak that listens to the radio obsessively. - Submitted by: Chris
