Misheard Song Lyrics -> Stories -> Swing Out Sister

Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody. For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.

This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.

Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

Breakout: Best of Swing out Sister album at Amazon.com
Swing Out Sister's, "Better Make It Better"
The Misheard Lyrics:
Ene me, Kim Bera.
The Real Lyrics:
Better make it better.
The Story: I bought the SOS album "Shapes 'N' Patterns" when my 2 1/2 years old niece was visiting. When I played it, she was there and so we'd jump and dance around it. After a few weeks of sos I decided to shift into another music genre but I didn't count on my little girl's feel on the band so every time I played music she'd request 'Ene Me Kim Bera', meaning better make it better lol! She's now 7 years old and she still reffers to it as Ene Me Kim Bera, ha, ha, ha. - Submitted by: SmoothGirlieGirl
Swing Out Sister's, "Breakout"
The Misheard Lyrics:
All new sensations gone
The Real Lyrics:
All expectations gone
The Story: Sounded like a reference to INXS. - Submitted by: Cody Finke
