Misheard Song Lyrics -> Stories -> Steel Pulse

Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody. For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.

This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.

Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

Steel Pulse's, "Born Fe Rebel"
The Misheard Lyrics:
I was born forever
The Real Lyrics:
I was born fe rebel
The Story: First heard this while playing Tony Hawks Underground 2 on the Ps2 when I was 11 and since the song was kind of obscured by the game sounds, it lead to this misheard lyric. Also, I didn't really pay attention to the songs name so I was hearing the lyrics "Born Forever" as an earworm in my head for years. - Submitted by: Steve
Steel Pulse's, "I Wanna Live in Your House"
The Misheard Lyrics:
SpongeBob a la ba, SpongeBob
The Real Lyrics:
(Vocalisation) Spange da ba la ba spange ba
The Story: I knew that this part of the song was just vocalization, but I couldn't help hearing "SpongeBob"; they could easily have been singing that. I can't hear this song now without thinking of SpongeBob Squarepants. - Submitted by: Diddims
