Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody. For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.

This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.

Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

Raven's, "My Christmas Wish"
The Misheard Lyrics:
It's my Christmas wish
That she'll love me too.
The Real Lyrics:
It's my Christmas wish
That you love me too.
The Story: It was my first impression that Raven was singing 'That she'll love me too'. Listening over and over couldn't competely make it clear whether she was singing 'she'll' or 'you'll' (the latter being my second guess, but still not exactly the real lyrics as I found them on the web). Thanks to web lyrics sites covering most songs, I was able to find those real lyrics. In this case it left me thinking -- depending on what impressions Raven wants to give about her sexual orientation, she MIGHT want to annunciate some of her words more clearly. - Submitted by: Amber Wayland
