Misheard Song Lyrics -> Stories -> Rasberries

Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody. For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.

This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.

Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

Rasberries', "Go All the Way"
The Misheard Lyrics:
Oh how I love her screwin' me
There's a hole in the bed where my .... should be.
Now I've changed, been re-arranged,
I come alive when she says come with me to sleep
and she says, Come on...etc.
The Real Lyrics:
Before her love, I was cruel and mean.
There was a hole in the place where my heart should have been.
But now I'm changed, and (I) feel so strange.
I come alive when she says all those things to me,
and she says, Come on...etc.
The Story: I really thought I was hearing something daring back then on AM radio, based on the song's title and the lyrics I (mis)heard! Since the radios I had in my dorm room and car were tinny AM models, I could not understand the words very well, anyway, especially the end of the second line of the bridge above. Loved the song, though! - Submitted by: J Wright
