Misheard Song Lyrics -> Stories -> Paul Van Dyk

Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody. For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.

This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.

Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

Paul Van Dyk's, "Crush"
The Misheard Lyrics:
Fire escapes and boats won't do.
The Real Lyrics:
Cars and planes and boats won't do.
The Story: First time I saw the video for this track on TV, someone in the room asked 'What good is a boat going to be if she goes down the fire escape?' The woman in the video is running away from something or someone. Took a few more watchings to realize that she was going to use a car or a plane. - Submitted by: Cian
Paul Van Dyk's, "Let Go"
The Misheard Lyrics:
If you feel you can Lego then Lego
The Real Lyrics:
If you feel you can't let go then let go
The Story: Again "Let Go". I thought that "Lego" is a popular constructor! - Submitted by: Tagir
