Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody.
For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.
This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.
Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not
by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see
misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and
misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

Aliza who loves you
Aliza a hug for you
Their lives again; their lives---to pull us through
The Story: I was out with my girlfriend and she was a bit sad. We ended up in a lounge that was playing this song, we both never heard it. I heard the words "Aliza who loves you - Aliza a hug for you" so I told her the song is dedicated to her, and I told her what I thought were the lyrics. She started laughing and we tried finding the lyrics but we didn't even know where to start because we couldn't even make out one word for sure other than the word YOU. We called a friend that is a DJ and now he was laughing too, I needed to hum the song to him and he knew what it is right away. The night ended up really good and she was able to cheer up. I plan on proposing to her this year and this will be one of the songs I will have play at the wedding and you are all invited, but please sing my version of the lyrics at the wedding. Hope you all have a great day or night! - Submitted by: Paul
