Misheard Song Lyrics -> Stories -> NickleBack

Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody. For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.

This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.

Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

NickleBack's, "This Is How You Remind Me"
The Misheard Lyrics:
Always hated a wise man,
Couldn't care less about a poor mans feelings.
The Real Lyrics:
Never made it as a wise man,
Couldn't cut it as a poor mans feeling.
The Story: When I thought the lead singer said ' Couldn't care less 'bout a poor mans feelings ' I thought it was really mean, And couldn't undersatnd why he wouls say somthing like that in a song..Until I read the lyrics and found out it wasn't that at all. - Submitted by: Aya
Nickleback's, "How You Remind Me"
The Misheard Lyrics:
It must have been so bad
Slim Whitman must have damn near killed you
The Real Lyrics:
It must have been so bad
Living with me must have damn near killed you
The Story: Well, let me first say this is a mighty cool song. But I couldn't figure out why he sang about the famed Slim Whitman at one point in the song. I decided to go out and buy the cd last week and lo and behold, he wasn't singin' 'bout Slim at all! Listen to it sounds like he's saying 'Slim Whitman'. Besides, listening to Slim Whitman might just damn near kill you. - Submitted by: Ryan
