Misheard Song Lyrics -> Stories -> Naked Eyes

Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody. For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.

This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.

Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

Naked Eyes', "Always Something There To Remind Me"
The Misheard Lyrics:
Always something there to my Reilly.
The Real Lyrics:
Always something there to remind me.
The Story: When I was 9 years old, this song was really popular. It also coincided with my first crush on a boy named Bobby Reilly. Yeah, I knew the song was about a girl- even back then. But whenever I heard that part of the song, my brain always heard 'something to my Reilly'. Probably wouldn't have happened if I hadn't had that big crush on Bobby Reilly. Funny, that song still flashes me back to that time. Even to this day, I can still instantly remember what it felt like to have a crush on a guy who had no idea I existed-but it takes that song to really do that feeling justice again for me. I'm married with 2 kids now, but I still run into Bobby Reilly on occasions. (Yep- that crush is still there!!) - Submitted by: Laughinggod
Naked Eyes', "Always Something There to Remind Me"
The Misheard Lyrics:
There is always something there to remind me
(Synthesiser voice) Mister Blobby.
The Real Lyrics:
There is always something there to remind me
[Synthesizer voice) Da da da da da.
The Story: I'm convinced that's the voice of the Mr Blobby character from "Noel's House Party". - Submitted by: SK
