Misheard Song Lyrics -> Stories -> Luke Bryan

Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody. For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.

This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.

Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

I'll Stay Me album at
Luke Bryan's, "Strip It Down"
The Misheard Lyrics:
Everything I need and some wine and cottage cheese
The Real Lyrics:
Everything I need in them white cotton sheets
The Story: The first time I heard this song, this is what I thought Luke Bryan was singing. I knew that people have wine and cheese when they are being romantic, usually not cottage cheese though I didn't think. The second time I heard the song, I realised he was saying white cotton sheets which makes more sense. - Submitted by: babicheeks999
Luke Bryan's, "Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset"
The Misheard Lyrics:
General Patton underneath
The Real Lyrics:
A little PacSun underneath
The Story: I thought he was talking about George S. Patton underneath a bed until I looked up the real lyrics. - Submitted by: Hiram McDavidson
Luke Bryan's, "That's My Kind Of Night"
The Misheard Lyrics:
No, how my plane fall?
The Real Lyrics:
Yeah, that's my kinda night.
The Story: An Airplane Down in the water and some ask how did that happen - Submitted by: TJ Neyland
