Misheard Song Lyrics -> Stories -> Leann Rimes

Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody. For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.

This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.

Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

Leann Rimes', "And It Feels Like"
The Misheard Lyrics:
'Cause it feels like...ooh, very good.
The Real Lyrics:
'Cause it feels like you're letting go.
The Story: Drowned in the sub-80s' rock background drone is Leann's vocals, making it quite a task to hear what she was saying. When it came to this line, it sounded like she was singing in some weird 'posh' accent. And it made me laugh because not only did it sound stupid, but the line itself didn't make any sense with the rest of the song. But my sister had the last laugh when she ridiculed me for the rest of the day after telling me what the real lyrics were. - Submitted by: Devil Jones
Leann Rimes', "Life Goes On"
The Misheard Lyrics:
Left me lying in a pool of dice.
The Real Lyrics:
Left me lying in a pool of doubt.
The Story: I was cruising with a friend, and she was belting out this song at the top of her lungs. She got to this part and sang 'Left me lying in a pool of dice'; I was laughing so hard I had to pull over! She could not understand why I was laughing!!! - Submitted by: Casey
Leann Rimes', "Please Remember"
The Misheard Lyrics:
We took each day And made a child
We rode each other in the sky
The Real Lyrics:
We took each day and made it shine
We wrote our names across the sky
The Story: A couple of friends and I were in the car on our way to a theme park, and we just couldn't believe what we all thought she said, we had no idea, so we figured it was the misheard lyric. We listened to the song for a half and hour just trying to figure out if she really said 'and made a child' haha.. not really all that funny, but it was at the time. - Submitted by: Megan
