Misheard Song Lyrics -> Stories -> Jet

Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody. For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.

This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.

Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

Corn-eyed b****
The Real Lyrics:
Cold-hard b****

Jet's, "Cold Hard B****"
The Misheard Lyrics:
One-eyed b****
The Real Lyrics:
Cold hard b****
The Story: So, I was outside painting cabinet doors when I first heard this song. The radio wasn't very loud so it's understandable that I misheard it. Still, I can't help but sing 'one eyed b****' whenever I hear it. - Submitted by: Sarah
Jet's, "Look What You've Done"
The Misheard Lyrics:
Give me back my point of view.
If it just won't sing for you.
The Real Lyrics:
Give me back my point of view.
'Cause I just can't think for you.
The Story: So many "point-of-view" songs are misheard as "point-of-you", but not in the case of this "point-of-view" song. Seemly, it was completely hear as "point-of-view". So, Nic Cester, lead singer of this band, would be alright. However, I'm using this song as a misheard lyric because it's possible that someone misheard this line as another mention of the first verse. Indicated that he was near-perfect to sing the lyrics of this song and less alright. The lyrics of the first verse was also can be heard during the last verse of this song. About this song: "Look What You've Done" is track #4 on their debut studio album, "Get Born", released on 14 September 2003. It was written by Nic Cester. The piano-driven Pop Rock/Soft Rock power ballad can be compared to the music of Coldplay, Keane, and The Fray. It was their second biggest hit single after Hard Rock's "Are You Gonna Be My Girl". Both "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" and "Look What You've Done" are known internationally while "Look What You've Done" was reaching #12 on their hometown country, Australia, #28 on the UK Singles Chart, and #37 on Billboard's Pop Chart. - Submitted by: Wisnu Aji
Jet's, "Look What You've Done"
The Misheard Lyrics:
Take my Frodo off the wall
If it just won't sing for you.
The Real Lyrics:
Take my photo off the wall
If it just won't sing for you.
The Story: I was driving and only half listening. For a second there I thought this dude was really into Lord of the Rings! - Submitted by: chaosrainz
