The Story: I never understood what the artist was trying to say. My eyes of Georgia made no sense, but that's what I heard. Even now that I know the true lyric, My Eyes of Georgia just seems to roll off of the tongue easier. - Submitted by: Brian

The Story: I was at my friend's house when this song came on and she and her mother asked me to settle their debate about what the actual lyrics were. My friend thought the singer was saying, 'My sweet Georgia' and her mother thought he was saying, 'My sadorcha' (whatever that is). Since the next line is 'I never laid a hand on you, but my eyes adored you,' I thought this was fairly obvious, but evidently not. I still laugh about it 25 years later. - Submitted by: Karen E.
